چکیده

conclusion pharmacomechanical thrombectomy provides very satisfactory results in a single procedure, as a new method in the treatment of acute and subacute deep vein thrombosis. background in this study, we shared the implementation success and clinical results for 38 patients treated with the cleaner™ pharmacomechanical thrombectomy device. objectives the impact and results of pharmacomechanical thrombectomy treatment on patients with deep vein thrombosis in the symptomatic acute and subacute phases were assessed. patients and methods pharmacomechanical thrombectomy treatment was applied in a single session for 38 patients with lower extremity deep vein thrombosis in the acute and subacute phases between may 2012 and june 2014. venography was performed and each assessment was made based on lysis rates and clinical results. results deep vein thrombosis was found in the left lower extremity in 25 patients (65%) and in the right lower extremity in 13 patients (35%). no patient was found to have bilateral deep vein thrombosis. thrombus localization was in the iliofemoral area in 17 patients (44%), the iliocaval area in three patients (8%), and the femoropopliteal area in 18 patients (56%). when thrombus resolution was assessed at the end of the process, grade iii and grade ii lysis was achieved in 36 (94%) out of 38 patients. complete resolution was achieved in 28 patients (74%) in the acute and subacute groups.

Pharmacomechanical thrombectomy for acute symptomatic lower extremity deep venous thrombosis.

BACKGROUND The purpose of this study was to evaluate the efficacy and safety of pharmacomechanical thrombectomy performed by using a rotational thrombectomy device for the treatment of deep vein thrombosis. METHODS Between April 2012 and November 2014, 17 patients with acute deep vein thrombosis underwent pharmacomechanical thrombolysis. The thrombectomy device was used in a single-session te...

Pharmacomechanical Catheter-Directed Thrombolysis for Deep-Vein Thrombosis.

BACKGROUND The post-thrombotic syndrome frequently develops in patients with proximal deep-vein thrombosis despite treatment with anticoagulant therapy. Pharmacomechanical catheter-directed thrombolysis (hereafter "pharmacomechanical thrombolysis") rapidly removes thrombus and is hypothesized to reduce the risk of the post-thrombotic syndrome. METHODS We randomly assigned 692 patients with ac...

Catheter-directed thrombolysis and pharmacomechanical thrombectomy improve midterm outcome in acute iliofemoral deep vein thrombosis.

BACKGROUND Aggressive and early thrombus removal strategy has been widely used as a treatment for iliofemoral deep vein thrombosis (DVT). We compared the long-tem venous outcome, including postthrombotic syndrome (PTS), in patients undergoing catheter-directed thrombolysis (CDT) and pharmacomechanical thrombectomy (PMT). METHODS From January 2009 to December 2013, 61 patients with acute proxi...

Early Outcomes of Pharmacomechanical Thrombectomy in Acute Deep Vein Thrombosis Patients.

BACKGROUND Acute lower extremity deep vein thrombosis (DVT) occurs due to obstruction of large veins by thrombus and its clinical findings are pain and swelling. If not treated, it can cause morbidity and mortality. Oral warfarin or low molecular weight heparin are applied in traditional treatment. However, recently, endovascular procedures have gained increasing popularity in deep vein thrombo...

Treatment of Deep-Vein Thrombosis

The annual incidence of venous thromboembolism is approximately 0.1 percent; the rate increases from 0.01 percent among persons in early adulthood to nearly 1 percent among those who are at least 60 years old. 1,2 More than half of these events involve deep-vein thrombosis. To minimize the risk of fatal pulmonary embolism, accurate diagnosis and prompt therapy are crucial. 3 Long-term complicat...
